My Genes Can Evolve Limitlessly·Chapter 342

# Chapter 342: Destruction of Heavenly Calamity Star

Lu Yuan watched the Serpent Demon suddenly cough up blood, his face draining of color, his aura weakening. Something felt off.

*Did he just… suffer backlash from his own power?*

*Seriously?*

*You're supposed to be a War God-level powerhouse. How do you get backlashed by your own energy?*

*You're a disgrace to War Gods everywhere.*

*How did you even reach War God rank?!*

Then he recalled what Ruoshui had told him — this Serpent Demon Bishop had apparently only attained War God level through the blessing of Heavenly Calamity.

Under this kind of pressure, his power had spiraled out of control?

*Misfortune probably had something to do with that.*

Realization dawned, but Lu Yuan's movements didn't pause for an instant.

Over a hundred Shadow Divine Messengers unleashed Scythe of Death upon the Serpent Demon Bishop.

Pale gray scythes slashed across his body one after another, leaving bloody gashes in their wake. His aura grew weaker still. More than that, the curses carried by Scythe of Death layered additional debilitating effects onto him.

At that moment, green flames surged around the Bishop. His arms suddenly morphed into writhing tentacles, each studded with blinking eyes. Not just his arms — his green robes bulged as flesh-covered tentacles tore through the fabric, flailing wildly.

The Serpent Demon Bishop had become something monstrous. His previously weakened aura exploded upward. Green flames burned in his eyes, and where there had once been clarity, now there was only savagery and bloodlust.

*This is…*

Lu Yuan frowned slightly, reminded of the grotesque Saint-level fighters who had appeared during the Heavenly Calamity Cult's second invasion of the Land of Origin's Upper Layer. They had undergone the same transformation.

*Complete Corruption through Aberration?*

The Serpent Demon Bishop snarled, and his tentacles shot toward Lu Yuan, each wreathed in terrifying green flames that radiated overwhelming power. Some of the tentacles bore eyes that pulsed with an eerie glow. Lu Yuan felt his mind ripple, a faint stinging sensation pricking at his brain.

Fortunately, his Mental Power was strong enough that this peculiar psychic attack barely affected him.

With a thought, time froze around the Serpent Demon Bishop. His body locked in place instantly.

Lu Yuan had activated Sands of Time.

The Shadow Divine Messengers at his side became streaks of light, starlight shimmering along their greatswords as they charged the frozen Bishop. Blades infused with dense stellar energy slashed across his body.

Time Stasis ended moments later. Green blood erupted in fountains as the Serpent Demon Bishop was carved into chunks by the barrage of sword strikes.

Each piece of severed flesh continued to squirm. Some bore mouths and eyes — the mouths screaming soundlessly, the eyes blinking with that same eerie glow. All the pieces began rapidly converging, trying to reform.

Lu Yuan narrowed his eyes. *As expected of a fully Aberrated War God — even that wasn't enough to kill him.*

But a moment later, a smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.

His mechanical Spirit Cannons had finished charging.

With a thought, bronze Spirit Power beams lanced through the vacuum near-instantaneously, tearing through space and blanketing the sluggishly reforming mass of flesh. Terrifying Spirit Power fluctuations erupted. Most of the flesh was vaporized on contact. Only a few smaller pieces survived at the edges of the bombardment zone, charred but not entirely destroyed.

Even so, the Serpent Demon Bishop — who had maintained a considerable aura even when carved to pieces — now radiated only the faintest trace of life.

Pale gray light flickered in Lu Yuan's eyes. Scythe of Death manifested once more, sweeping through the remaining fragments and snuffing out the Bishop's last spark of vitality. The kill was complete.

Lu Yuan watched the flesh go still and let out a slow breath.

Just as Senior Ruoshui had said — this Bishop really wasn't that strong. He'd been completely outmatched from the start. The battle may have looked dramatic, but in reality, only a few breaths had passed before Lu Yuan cut the Serpent Demon Bishop down.

Of course, that spoke to Lu Yuan's own overwhelming strength. With Sands of Time already half-tempered, his combat power exceeded what it had been during his fight with the Mirage Dragon. Dealing with a War God propped up by Aberration's blessing was child's play — like an adult swatting a toddler.

The devastating Spirit Cannon shockwaves drew the attention of those still fighting nearby — Nuxing and the Ancient Barbarian Bishop, as well as Ruoshui and the Heavenly Calamity Grand Archbishop.

All four combatants froze for an instant, turning to look.

When they saw the scattered remains of charred flesh, shock hit the Ancient Barbarian Bishop and the Grand Archbishop like a physical blow.

"Beckley?!"

"What?! How is that possible?!"

The Grand Archbishop, though startled, maintained his composure — his strength far exceeded Beckley's, after all.

But naked fear surfaced in the Ancient Barbarian Bishop's eyes. His strength was on par with Beckley's, and Nuxing had already been dominating their fight. Now Beckley — his equal — had been slain by this human War God. What chance did *he* have?

It wasn't just the two Cult leaders. Even Nuxing and Ruoshui stared at Lu Yuan in surprise. Beckley may not have been the strongest, but he was still War God-level. Since when was killing a War God this easy?

Nuxing's opponent was roughly Beckley's equal, and even he had only managed to suppress the Ancient Barbarian — a kill would have taken considerably longer.

But Lu Yuan? He'd killed a War God in just a handful of exchanges?

Both of them realized that despite already overestimating Lu Yuan's strength, they still hadn't come close to the truth.

While the four were still reeling, Lu Yuan had already turned his gaze toward the Ancient Barbarian Bishop.

He called out with a grin, "Senior Nuxing, let me give you a hand."

The words snapped everyone back to the present. Nuxing threw his head back and laughed.

"Good! Let's exterminate these pests together!"

Terror flooded the Ancient Barbarian Bishop's eyes. Green flames erupted around him, engulfing his entire body in a massive fireball. He rocketed away, abandoning all pretense — running for his life.

He didn't get far before his entire body locked up. Not just his body — even the flames wreathing him froze, as if pinned to a single point in time.

Nuxing blinked in astonishment, glancing at Lu Yuan, but he didn't hesitate. Spirit Power surged around him as a sphere of devastating energy shot forward like a comet, slamming into the frozen Ancient Barbarian.

**BOOM!!!**

The Time Stasis shattered under the tremendous force. The green flames disintegrated almost instantly, and the Ancient Barbarian's body was blown to pieces.

Chunks of writhing flesh scattered in every direction, streaking away as points of light.

Nuxing's expression shifted. "Stop him! He's trying to scatter and escape!"

At that moment, the fleeing fragments froze in place once more.

Pale gray scythes flashed through the void.

Every last fragment went lifeless.

Nuxing, still radiating Spirit Power, let out a breath of relief as his aura settled. He turned to Lu Yuan, wonder still visible in his eyes.

"Lu Yuan — that's a time-attribute Transcendent Gene? Divine Grade?"

Lu Yuan smiled and nodded. "Mm-hm."

Nuxing was silent for a moment, then broke into a grin and gave him a thumbs-up.

"Incredible!"

Lu Yuan chuckled. "You flatter me, Senior. Let's go help Senior Ruoshui."

"Ha! Let's go — this time, the Heavenly Calamity Cult is finished for good."

Having killed two Bishops — both Divine Grade Aberrated Individuals — Nuxing was in excellent spirits. The two became streaks of light, racing toward the nearby battle between Ruoshui and the Elf Grand Archbishop.

The Grand Archbishop had been desperately trying to flee ever since Beckley's death, Spirit Power surging wildly around him. But Ruoshui was no weakling. If the goal was merely containment rather than a kill, it wasn't especially difficult for her.

Dozens of water dragons roared as they encircled the Grand Archbishop. Though his power was immense — his body wreathed in corrosive green flames, each blast capable of dissolving a water dragon — he remained trapped within the encirclement.

When the Ancient Barbarian Bishop fell as well, the Grand Archbishop snapped.

He roared, his face draining of color as fine wrinkles crawled across his skin. Beneath his robes, grotesque bulges writhed and pulsed, as if tentacles could burst free at any moment.

However, the Grand Archbishop's power was on another level entirely. Far more stable than the other two, he showed only traces of Aberration without succumbing to full transformation.

Even partially unleashed, his aura spiked dramatically. His longsword swept out, launching a blade of green flame hundreds of kilometers long at Ruoshui.

The terrifying force made Ruoshui frown. Her water dragons surged toward the incoming strike, spitting Water Arrows. The arrows collided with the sword energy and disintegrated. The blade carved through several dragons blocking its path and cleaved toward Ruoshui.

She narrowed her eyes, her body dissolving into a streak of light that vanished from its original position, dodging the attack.

Having forced Ruoshui back, the Grand Archbishop seized the opening to flee.

His body locked up mid-flight.

Sands of Time — Time Stasis.

The instant the Grand Archbishop froze, a star-bright energy sphere slammed into him.

Nuxing's attack.

After their earlier teamwork, Lu Yuan and Nuxing's coordination had only grown sharper.

Sands of Time couldn't hold the Grand Archbishop for long — he broke free almost instantly — but it was enough. The energy sphere found its mark.

Blood sprayed from the Grand Archbishop's mouth as he was sent hurtling backward, his aura visibly diminished.

Lu Yuan regarded him with a hint of admiration. "Impressive — as expected of the Grand Archbishop. Far stronger than the other two. That only wounded him."

The Ancient Barbarian Bishop had taken the same attack and been blown apart. The Grand Archbishop had suffered serious injuries, nothing more. The gap between them was plain to see.

Nuxing grinned. "Once wasn't enough? Then we'll just do it a few more times."

He'd realized just how devastating Lu Yuan's time-attribute Transcendent Gene was. The moment time froze, even someone as powerful as the Grand Archbishop had no choice but to stand there and take the hit.

Ruoshui, noticing their arrival, turned to Lu Yuan with undisguised surprise.

"A time-attribute Divine Grade gene?!"

Lu Yuan nodded. "That's right."

Ruoshui opened her mouth, then closed it, at a loss for words.

The heavily wounded Grand Archbishop watched all three close in, his expression darkening. His gaze swept across them. Then his face twisted into something savage.

"No matter how you struggle, you cannot stop the universe's inevitable destruction."

Lu Yuan narrowed his eyes, cold light flickering within them. Time Stasis activated once more.

Nuxing and Ruoshui struck simultaneously.

A devastating energy sphere and a surging dragon-shaped torrent of water crashed into the Grand Archbishop. Already gravely wounded and unable to so much as raise a defense, he was torn to shreds.

Pale gray scythes flashed through the debris.

The writhing flesh went still — lifeless at last.

Sensing the Grand Archbishop's aura vanish entirely, both Ruoshui and Nuxing felt as though they were dreaming.

"The Heavenly Calamity Cult — the thorn in our side for hundreds of millions of years — is just… gone?"

After a stunned silence, Ruoshui turned to Lu Yuan with a smile.

"Lu Yuan, we owe this to you. Whether it was finding the Cult's headquarters or killing all three of their leaders — your contribution was the greatest. None of this would have been possible without you."

Lu Yuan smiled. "You're too kind, Senior Ruoshui. I just wanted to do my part for the universe."

Nuxing clapped him on the shoulder. "Good man! From today on, you're my brother. If you ever need anything, come find me."

Lu Yuan couldn't think of many problems he couldn't solve on his own, but more friends were always welcome. He smiled and nodded. "Then I'll take you up on that, Senior Nuxing."

Ruoshui glanced toward the ongoing battles among the Battle Saints. "Let's finish off the remaining Apostles as well. No sense leaving loose ends."

The three nodded and moved in together, targeting the Heavenly Calamity Apostles. The Apostles had already been struggling against the Battle Saints. Once they realized all three of their leaders were dead, despair set in. Against three War God-level fighters, they didn't even have a chance to resist before being cut down.

With every Apostle and leader eliminated, Lu Yuan dismissed his Mechanical Kingdom and Sands of Time.

The Battle Saints surveyed the Apostle corpses with undisguised elation.

Ruoshui smiled. "We should destroy this planet, too."

She looked down at the great hall below, then at the land seething with sinister green flames.

Lu Yuan considered for a moment. "I'll handle it. I have the power of light — I can purify the entire planet."

"Go ahead."

The group flew beyond the planet's atmosphere. Golden light blazed in Lu Yuan's eyes, and in the next instant, an inferno of Radiant Fire erupted, engulfing all of Heavenly Calamity Star.

The Radiant Fire raged with such intensity that space itself warped around the planet.

Then a chorus of shrill, agonized shrieks erupted from the void — sound that the vacuum of space could not contain, boring directly into the minds of Lu Yuan and the others.

The three War Gods winced, frowning at the sudden lance of pain. The Battle Saints fared worse — blood sprayed from their mouths as they staggered, faces blanching from the psychic assault.

The three War Gods stared at the twisted green flames.

Nuxing spoke slowly. "That was the will of the Aberrant Beast Mother Nest. I didn't realize its reach had already penetrated this deep."
